LANGUAGE EXAMINATIONS

Taking a language qualification?

We accept private candidate entries for a selected range of GCSE, AS Level and A Level language qualifications.

Some language qualifications include a speaking assessment in addition to the written examinations. Where required, entry will depend on the availability of appropriate specialist staffing and assessment arrangements.

Any additional requirements or fees relating to speaking assessments will be clearly identified before your entry is confirmed.

Science Examinations

Taking Biology, Chemistry or Physics?

PraPractical requirements differ depending on whether you are taking GCSE, AS Level or A Level Science.

GCSE Science

GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Combined Science do not have a separate Practical Endorsement. However, candidates must meet the practical requirements of their chosen specification, which may include completing practical activities through the centre. Practical knowledge and skills are also assessed in the written examinations.

AS Level Science

AS Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics do not have a separate Practical Endorsement. Practical skills are assessed through the qualification requirements and written.

A Level Science

A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics include a separately reported Practical Endorsement. Candidates requiring the endorsement must complete the required practical activities in addition to their written examinations.

Resitting a GCSE, AS Level or A Level?

We welcome candidates who are resitting qualifications.

If you have taken examinations previously, please have your previous examination details available where possible, particularly your Unique Candidate Identifier (UCI).

Don't know your UCI? That's fine. You can still apply.

Please don't guess or create one.

Examination Fees

Clear examination fees

Our examination fees are charged per qualification, not per examination paper.

Our standard examination fee includes:

  • Awarding organisation entry fee
  • Candidate registration and examination entry
  • Centre administration
  • Standard examination invigilation
  • Use of our examination facilities
  • Results and certificate administration

charges may apply where a qualification requires practical provision, specialist assessment, Access Arrangement assessment or other services outside the standard examination entry.

Any additional costs will be explained before your entry is confirmed.

Entry Deadlines & Late Fees

Book early and avoid late fees

Examination fees vary depending on when your entry is submitted. We operate three entry periods:

Standard Entry

Book by our published Standard Entry deadline to receive our standard examination fee.

Late Entry

Entries received after the Standard Entry deadline are subject to higher examination fees.

Very Late Entry

Significantly higher fees apply during the final entry period, and we cannot guarantee that an examination entry will still be possible.

Late and Very Late entries remain subject to awarding organisation deadlines, qualification availability and our ability to accommodate your examination.

Access Arrangements

Need additional support in your exams?

If you have previously received Access Arrangements or believe you may require them for your examinations, please tell us as early as possible.

Our SENCo can review your circumstances and any existing evidence and advise you about the next steps.

Access Arrangements are subject to appropriate evidence, assessment requirements, relevant regulations and application deadlines.

Need help preparing for your exams?

As part of Bury Tuition Centre, we can also support candidates who would benefit from tuition or additional preparation before their examinations.

Our tuition is delivered by subject specialists and can support students preparing for GCSE, AS Level and A Level qualifications.

Whether you need support with a particular topic, ongoing tuition or help preparing for a resit, speak to our team about the tuition available.

You do not need to study with us to sit your examinations with us.
