Your Exam Details

Know exactly what you want to sit

Have the details of the examinations you want to sit, including:

  • Qualification — GCSE, AS Level or A Level
  • Subject
  • Awarding Organisation — for example, AQA or OCR
  • Specification Code
  • Exam Series — for example, November 2026 or Summer 2027
  • Tier or option, where applicable
Not sure which exam you need?

If you are studying with a tutor, school, college or learning provider, check the exact qualification, awarding organisation and specification code with them before applying. If you are still unsure, contact our Exams Team.

02

Your UCI, If You Have One

Have you taken UK examinations before?

If you have previously taken GCSE, AS Level or A Level examinations, you may already have a Unique Candidate Identifier, known as a UCI. It normally stays with you throughout your examination history.

What does a UCI look like?

A UCI is a 13-character Unique Candidate Identifier. It will usually look similar to this:

123450123456A

Where can I find it?

Look on previous examination documentation such as a Statement of Entry, or ask your previous school, college or examination centre.

Do not know your UCI?

That is fine. You can still apply. If you have had a UCI but cannot find it, tell us during your application. Please do not guess or create one.

03

Photo Identification

Have your identification ready

Please have a clear copy of an accepted form of photographic identification ready to upload. Your name and date of birth should match the details entered on your application.

  • Passport
  • UK photocard driving licence or provisional driving licence
  • EU national identity card
  • PASS-accredited proof of age card

Do not have photo ID?

You can still apply by completing our Candidate No Photo ID Form. An independent adult of appropriate professional standing who knows you personally must verify your identity and confirm that your photograph is a true likeness.

This could include a headteacher, teacher, healthcare professional, magistrate, solicitor, bank manager, employer or senior manager.

Complete the form before starting your application

That way it is ready to upload when requested.

04

Recent Photograph

A clear, recognisable image

Please have a recent, clear colour photograph of yourself ready to upload. Your photograph should:

  • Clearly show your head and shoulders
  • Show your full face
  • Be well lit
  • Be a recent and recognisable image of you
  • Not contain filters or effects
Why we need it

Your photograph will form part of your candidate record and will help us verify your identity during the examination process.

05

Access Arrangements

Tell us about your needs when you apply

If you have previously received Access Arrangements or believe you may require them, have any existing evidence or documentation available.

  • Previous Access Arrangement documentation
  • Form 8 or Form 9, where applicable
  • Assessment reports
  • Evidence from your previous school, college or examination centre

Please provide the evidence you already hold before arranging a new assessment. Our SENCo will review it and advise whether anything further is required.

A £120 Assessment and Review Fee may apply.
06

Taking A Level Science?

Biology, Chemistry or Physics

If you are booking A Level Biology, Chemistry or Physics, we will ask you about your Science Practical Endorsement.

If you previously completed a Practical Endorsement, have your examination details or evidence available. In some circumstances, a previously achieved Practical Endorsement may be carried forward, subject to the relevant requirements and verification.

Have not completed the endorsement?

Tell us when you apply. We will advise you about the practical provision required and any additional fees before your entry is confirmed.
